Our Process

AVAILABILITY

Ellie and Ginger both serve on our response team. They comfort students during grief situations or help communities in crisis. In 2023, we only had three litters, so have been looking forward to meeting the new puppies these two girls would bring us. See the sweet photos below of the puppies that are available!

On TikTok, you can find daily video updates!

First, ask yourself if:

  • you have time to care for and train a puppy

  • you can afford proper vet care and even a little extra

  • you will make the puppy a part of your family, no matter what

  • you will give the puppy back to us if you cannot keep him or her, no matter how old he or she is

PUPPY STEPS!

  1. Click the APPLY ONLINE link above and complete the puppy questionnaire. Be sure to tell us about your current pets, your hobbies and pasttimes and the members of your family!

  2. SUBMIT REQUESTED PHOTOS TO: amanda@goldenruleretrievers.com

    • The front of your home

    • The view looking out your front door

    • The backyard

    • The location where the puppy will stay when you are away

    • the main living area of your home

    • any photos you would like to share of your family, pets or hobbies

  3. ONCE YOUR APPLICATION IS APPROVED, YOU MAY PLACE A DEPOSIT :)

We continually look for ways to improve the whelping process for mother and babies, providing nourishment, enrichment and encouragement so that each puppy has a strong foundation on which to build his or her new life with your family. We are not just breeders. You are not just a consumer. We are family.

Nursery puppies go home when they are 9 weeks old. They are learning to stay in the crate and will usually need one potty break at night. They are learning the SIT command and have had two boosters of the four-vaccine set that is the standard for puppies. They are dewormed weekly from 2 weeks old.

Each puppy comes with AKC registration, the first month of heartworm and flea/tick preventive, a microchip with lifetime subscription, one month of free health insurance and a bag with toys, food, a leash and your puppy’s baby blanket. We share training videos with you. Our families often choose to board their pups with us when they travel.

NURSERY PUPPY: $2,500 ($500 nonrefundable deposit required)

Please Note: In the past, Golden Rule Retrievers donated puppies and dogs to individuals and families in need. Due to instances in which recipients were irresponsible in caring for their Golden Rule dogs, we no longer donate puppies or dogs. Law enforcement officers, veterans and active duty military members may still receive a $300 discount. Please be responsible. Spay, neuter, vaccinate, train and microchip!
