BEGINNING SERVICE DOGS

BEGINNING SERVICE DOGS complete STAR puppy training, however special focus is given to what his job will be when he is permanently placed. He will get public access training, providing hundreds of hours in opportunities for your pup to experience over 150 different learning environments and situations. Your pup will be a part of our crisis response team while he is training, but on a daily basis, he will experience everything from public and private school classrooms to hospitals and nursing homes. He will visit college campuses and military bases. From birthday parties to individual counseling and therapy sessions, his training will focus on what you need most. We may include some task training related to deep pressure therapy, fetching various items, self-harming interruptions and calming techniques.

BELLA’S BUDDIES INC. DOES NOT TRAIN DOGS FOR SEIZURE ALERT OR BLOOD SUGAR.

RASCAL

RESERVED Rascal, born 3/21/2024, will be a task-focused dog who will need a job to do. He is motivated and will do well with a schedule. He is dedicated and persistent when learning new things. He is brave and hasn’t met a human or dog he didn’t like. He uses his nose and would do well with training that goes beyond our STAR program. We think he is a perfect PTS, psychiatric or mobility service dog candidate. He will finish his STAR training in January 2025 but our plans are that he will progress to Beginning Service Training. Please inquire if you are interested in Rascal for service to mitigate a disability. Depending on Rascal’s service-related goals, we expect him to be ready for placement May 2025. $22,000

RAINY

RAINY, born 3/21/2024 is very similar in temperament to one of our Golden Rule legends, Georgie. She is mellow and calm when in a group of humans or dogs, lending her low energy to a more peaceful environment. Rainy is patient with those around her and is a good service or therapy dog candidate. She will do well as a volunteer in a school or hospital, or as part of a therapy dog program, but from what we are seeing of her right now, she will not want a full time gig. She will want to be wherever her human goes. Rainy will lean at her own pace and she doesn’t get into a hurry about anything. One of the best things about her is that she almost always makes good choices. Rainy will want to be more than a family dog and she has a lot to share in serving others. Her human will not need to do extensive training with her as the STAR program should fulfill her training goals. Rainy will be ready to go home December 2024. $15,000
